Training on insecticide resistance

Control of Aedes vectors is currently primarily based on insecticides but such strategies are strengthened by the spread of insecticide resistance. In order to guide national programmes in the choice of the most effective compounds to use, there is a need to obtain insecticide resistance data. Recent data highlighted a lack of knowledge in different parts of the world, in particular for Africa, Middle-East and Euro-Mediterranean regions.

MediLabSecure has been motivated to organize a training on testing procedures for monitoring and managing insecticide resistance. About fifteen participants from the Balkans, the Middle East and North Africa regions will join together in Montpellier from November 14 to 18th. The training will be held at the Vectopole, on the platform managed by MIVEGEC (Infectious Diseases and Vectors: Ecology, Genetics, Evolution and Control), a Joint Research Unit of IRD
