MediLabSecure at World One Health Congress

MediLabSecure has been well represented during the last World One Health Congress held in Cape own South Africa from 20 to 23rd September 2024.

Indeed, Vanessa Lagal, MediLabSecure project manager, gave an oral presentation to present MediLabSecure project and the activities over the last ten years and the outputs that have been achieved.

4 posters were presented during the poster sessions on:

  • “Ticks and Tick-Born Diseases in Senegal: an Ecological Niche Modeling Approach to Estimate the Spatial Distribution of Hard-Ticks of Medical and Veterinary Importance” by Gorgui Diouf from Institut sénégalais de recherche Agricole, MediLabSecure focal point for medical entomology in Senegal  
  • “Whole Genome Sequencing of West Nile Virus Strains from Serbia” by Sofija ŠOLAJA, Institute of Veterinary Medicine of Serbia, member of the MediLabSecure focal point animal laboratory in Serbia  
  • Mapping the Distributional Potential of the Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever Vector Hyalomma Marginatum by Abdallah GAD, Ain Shams University, Egypt, MediLabSecure focal point for medical entomology in Egypt  
  • “Implementation of Rapid Metagenomics Identification of Emerging Viruses for Public Health and Animal Health Laboratories Within the Medilabsecure Network” by Guillain Mikaty from Institut Pasteur, one of the experts of the human virology team  

In addition, MediLabSecure had a booth at the event, which helped to promote the project over the four days of the conference.
